Born on June 22, 1941, Linda's early life was immersed in the reality of hearing loss. Raised in a family where hearing impairments were prevalent, she grew up acutely aware of the challenges that those with hearing loss face. Her mother had lost much of her hearing due to severe infections, while her uncle experienced significant hearing loss as a result of his service in a heavy artillery unit during World War II. Linda’s grandparents also dealt with the age-related hearing loss known as presbycusis. These experiences not only shaped her personal perspective but also sparked a lifelong commitment to understanding and addressing hearing loss in all its forms.
